Speak DIRECTLY to us and help our girls!
As already mentioned on the page Our Homes, rescued girls are welcomed into the AOGE family and our homes where restoration work continues. Vocational education and training opportunities are available through a private school and our training center.
However, we understand that prevention is the best way to fight against human trafficking. We are dealing with individual lives. We do not want more girls and young woman to be trapped in the terrible nightmare of human trafficking. Thousands of children are trafficked every year within Cambodia and to neighboring countries for sexual exploitation. The numbers, although uncertain, are alarming. No single organization can to restore so many.
Not all those we receive in our homes have been trafficked. Some came because they were at risk due to being orphaned, abandoned, abused/neglected, or having a family history of trafficking. They are part of our family because we want to prevent them from being trafficked.
For the sake of our wanted children we desired to have control of the education process. The dream was realized in 2009, when we received the grant from the Government of Nepal and began the Shristi Gyan Secondary School. “Shristi” means creation and “Gyan” means knowledge. Our school is a place of the creation of knowledge. Currently our school has about 300 students and servers not only rescued children and youth, but also the local community.
Our school is a happy school where students discover and develop their talents. We also work with the goal of a brighter future for our children. During the year we have various activities including: Day of Literature, World Environment Day, Children’s Day and Music Fest. Music Fest encourages students both in music and in dance, which are very strong in local culture.

Scholarship for prevention
Presently, we have around 400 scholarships distributed throughout Nepal. We want to increase this number in the coming years. Our current contract with the government requires 1,200 scholarships by the year 2023, but it counts all the individuals we are educating or helping, like those who live in villages targeted for prevention, all the children who live in AOGE homes, those who have been reintegrated with their families and those who study at our school.
If we total all of them, more than 800 individuals are being educated through the efforts of AOGE. We also provide follow-up services including assessment of needs to all of those receiving scholarships and their families.
AOGE scholarship program has been commended by the Nepalese government, the communities that benefit and even the United Nations (UN). The long-term goal is to put an end to human trafficking and promote safe communities for children.
Our scholarship program is specifically designed to support children who are at a real risk of becoming victims of human trafficking. We analyze each case by conducting a thorough family assessment, which includes evaluating their financial conditions and family history. All the information obtained during these assessments is treated as strictly confidential and is not disclosed to the public.
It is important to note that we do not use any pictures or conditions of these children for fundraising purposes. We respect their privacy and dignity at all times.
We firmly believe in providing equal opportunities and do not discriminate based on religion, caste, or any other factors. However, considering the higher vulnerability of girls to human trafficking, 80% of the scholarships are allocated to girls, while the remaining 20% are reserved for boys. As exceptional cases, up to 10% of the scholarships may be granted to individuals who are not potential human trafficking victims.
Please be aware that we reserve the right to admit or reject applicants based on our assessment criteria and the available resources. Our ultimate goal is to protect and empower children who are at risk of human trafficking.
